A New Chapter for Old Stones

A Vintage Inspired Ring.

There’s a certain romance in creating something new from something already full of history. This recently finished ring is a tribute to vintage Art Nouveau elegance, designed around a repurposed marquise and tapered baguette cut diamonds. These stones that once lived in another piece, now reimagined for a new chapter.

The design takes its cues from mid-century settings, with a refined symmetry and gentle geometry that lets each diamond shine in its own way. The marquise sits proudly at the centre, its elongated shape drawing the eye with soft brilliance, flanked by tapered baguette cut diamonds that bring balance and structure.

Creation process.

Each of the diamonds varied in size as they were repurposed from unworn jewellery. Platinum was used to frame the stones and bring them all together on a polished platform. The cool tone and strength of the metal enhances the diamond's sparkle and gives the setting timeless clarity. This crisp metal detail is softened by the warmth of an 18ct yellow gold band, creating a thoughtful contrast.

What I love most about this ring is its quiet complexity. It’s a piece that doesn’t shout but holds its own. I am proud of the balance, combining precision, sentiment, and style. It’s about keeping what matters close and letting it evolve, gently and with care.

If you’ve been considering redesigning heirloom stones or forgotten pieces, this ring is a beautiful example of what’s possible: jewellery that honours the past while being firmly in the present.
